I 30M have been with this woman 31F for several years. I’ll just say, visiting the US full-time isn’t exactly a short process. Multi-year even. Our idea is to get married, and then begin the immigration process which usually takes 2 years.
My family isn’t exactly excited about it. There’s a lot of preconceived notions they have from years of history, and media exposure.
She and I? I’ve been to her country a few times already, and I’m leaving in a few days to visit again. (And give a ring.) There’s never been anything wrong between us as far as I know, it seems to just be boomer propaganda or a rhetoric that seems to be the main prejudice here with my family.
