Hi, so im a 19 year old student in technical high school (hope i got it right, im polish) and i still live with my father, over the summer i got a job and earned enough money to buy a new pc which cost me around 4700zł (roughly around 1300 usd or 1100 euro) i worked in a very physically demanding job, it was mostly technical support and construction work to prepare some sort of party, i would take bonus hours, often ending late at night and having to wake up early next day with a two hour drive to it and another two hours back. I didnt sleep much and didnt have time to make myself food for work, so i went around a month like that, finally when my paycheck came i decided to get the parts, it took me some time and my father tried butting in with suggestions with on which i did agree on the cpu with him. Finally when parts came, my father decided to buy a new monitor which around 1000zł (272 usd and 236 euro) finally after setting it all up, i did play for a bit but with time my father played on it more and more to the point where i just didnt have time for it, i would have school, house duties and other things to take care of, usually having free time when my father came home or later, when i wanted to play he’d just tell me "in a minute" or "just a bit more" and it would end up being late and me having to go to sleep to wake up for school, it stretched for a month and i decided to tell him how i feel but he burst out saying that he also added his share into the pc (it being only the monitor, everything else came from my money) and that he’ll return it if i dont stop acting like that so that we both wont play, also added that since i live under his roof and he pays the bills i owe this to him. Mind you he didnt play much back before this, maybe sit down for a round or two of tekken and go back to watching movies. Than he got into assassin’s creed and my pc wasnt really mine anymore, he started on my previous pc and it continues to this day. So to repeat my question, AITA for not wanting wanting my father to hog the pc i spent so much time and my own health to get ? Because sometimes it feels like i did all that to buy the pc for him instead of myself.
Take everything you bought and buy your own monitor, and put your set up in your own room.
