Basically what the title says I used the toaster oven and when I turned it off I set the temperature to 0 degrees. So I went back there to wash my hands and he gets mad at me because the temperature was set at 0 degrees, its usually at the highest temperature, and I told him its not that deep but he literally threw a fit because I keep setting it to 0 degrees. Keep it in mind hes almost 20

Changing the temperature isn’t necessary to turn the toaster oven off. You’re making it less convenient for your brother to use for no reason.
Why are you messing with the temperature setting? Turning it off has no bearing on the temperature being 0 so why would you do that?
Why do you set the temp to 0° after you use it? Why do you make everyone else reset the temp? Are you just being an asshole?

INFO: I don’t really understand the problem here. Do you and he both like it set to the same temperature when you’re using it? (i.e., would he not have to adjust it if you didn’t turn it all the way down?) WHY do you set it to 0 degrees when you’re done? Can you turn it on and off safely without changing the temperature?
This is a tiny thing to get upset about, but if you’re doing it all the time for no reason, I can see how it’s annoying for him to have to reset the temperature to the setting everybody uses just because one person has an incongruous habit of turning it down every time.
If it was just this once, who cares? If it’s a habit you have, why? Why is it important to you to be able to do this? It does sound annoying, if it’s creating extra steps for other people and giving you no direct benefit. It’s a dumb thing for him to whine about, but it’s also a dumb thing for you to insist on doing. So maybe just stop?

I’m going with YTA, why because when the toaster oven is turned off the temperture setting has nothing to do with starting a fire. Leaving it on with flamable material near by does causes fires or a short due to faulty wiring. Also a power surge can cause it to short out. If you want to be really safe just unplug it.
