AITA for grabbing the wrong cake from the fridge?

Here’s the situation, me and my sister both have a piece of cake from the same restaurant, same box, same cake, the different? None?? They had been mixed up in the fridge and I didn’t know, I hadn’t been in the fridge. We both went to grab our cakes, I grabbed one. She grabbed one, I opened the box and she then starts screaming about that being her cake, I go to hand it to her, hadn’t eaten it. Hadn’t even touched it with a spoon IT HAD BEEN OPENED. She then threw the box of cake on the table, she refuses to talk to me or touch either box of cake… am I the asshole here?

  1. No, not your fault at all. It’s literally the same cake and you didn’t know. I’d just leave her mad and eat mine later or hide it lol!!

  2. Your sister sounds unhinged. How would either of you know which cake belonged to them and to throw a tantrum? I hope this wasn’t actually about cake because if it was she needs to get her priorities sorted. NTA

  3. Sounds like your sister is either stressed and lashing about something else, or looking for a fight.

She may have marked her box and seeing the wrong one tipped her over some edge of rage, or she could be a drama queen looking for a fight.

Nta, based on what you wrote here, but there is also no information. If this is out of character for your sister, it might be worth checking on her.

  4. NTA.

Your sister sounds like she might have some undiagnosed mental health issues, be a sibling and talk to your parents about getting her some help.

  5. No. Definite NTA here, but your sister is being very unreasonable. Did she say how she “knew” it was her slice of cake in the box in your hand? If everything about them is identical, what’s her problem? She’s overreacting massively and I for one would need to know *why*!
