I (35 M) have been talking to this woman who lives in Ghana, which I have never been to before. I would love to visit someday, but not right at the moment. She (32 F) is the right one for me, but she’s demanding that I come see her asap, and that I buy her a new I phone. I can’t afford it as I’m only a maintenance man for a series of apartment complexes, which pays pretty decent but not enough to afford all that. She wanted me to meet up with her after talking for two days, but we have been talking now for over two months. Would I be the asshole if I told her I can’t make it out there yet?
Oh good lord. You are being scammed. She’s not real and she doesn’t care about you. Stop talking to people in other countries that ask you for money.

You would not be the asshole to her, you’d be the mark who she completed the scam on. Once you buy the phone, if she doesn’t disappear, expect to get mugged once you get to Ghana.

SCAMM! She will ask for a phone, then will say a story that she or a family member is sick and needs money, so on and so on. Don’t engage with her anymore and research about “romance scams”.
