I(19) finished reading all the Bridgerton books ages ago. Haven’t watched the show, though. My stepmom, on the other hand, never read the books but watches the show.
She got upset with the newest season and vented about it. Then she asked me why I didn’t warn her it would be ‘so toxic.’ I told her I didn’t know how close they’d stick to the book and didn’t want to risk spoiling anything but she still said I could have at least given her a heads up and told her it would be worse than the previous stories.
So the rape in season 1 wasnt problematic?
Right? I cannot think of anything in the current season that is more problematic than that.
Edit: I’m guessing there’s some racism involved here.

It’s a Shonda Rhimes (sp?) show. On Netflix. If you don’t know what that means after 16+ years of Greys Anatomy, Scandal, and 3 seasons of Bridgerton, you deserve what you get.
