I have a younger sister24 who just had a baby a little over 3 weeks ago. My sister is a hyper, social, party type of person. She has been doing well though and her baby is healthy.
She had asked me if I’d be willing to babysit overnight this coming Friday. I had asked her why, and she told me her boyfriend and her wanted to go drinking at their friends house. I had asked if she was sure she was up for that and she should be resting and healing, she said yes that’s why their having it at friends house and the alcohol will help(as a joke.) I told her I wouldn’t be babysitting and I didn’t agree with her. She asked what I didn’t agree about and I told her I didn’t think you should be leaving your baby anywhere overnight this soon especially not to go out and get drunk. I have two children under 4 and I haven’t even had someone watch them over night yet. She told me moms are allowed to have fun too, and I said I thought it was selfish behavior. She got upset and we got into an argument. She basically said I had no right throwing judgment and I was one of those people who thinks women’s are only moms. Anyways she’s pretty upset at me. AITA
