So me and my girlfriend have been sharing the same IPad for about a year now. I use it to scroll on Reddit, and to write stories. She uses it to play games, and watch TV.
Every month, we like to take turns changing the background of the iPad. Last month was her turn, and she changed it to a picture of a shirtless Jason Mamoa. This month it was my turn, and to be funny, I decided to change it to a picture of a pair of Lips that I was on a podcast I was watching.
Well the other day, my girlfriend comes up to me and asks what the hell the background picture is. I told her that I saw it on a podcast, and thought it was funny, so I made it the background this month.
She looked at me like I was a psychopath, and told me that I was weird, and that she didn’t want to look at somebody’s mouth whenever she uses the IPad. I told her that it was my turn to decide the background of the month, and that, that was my choice.
She handed me the IPad, and said that I can use it for the month, and she’ll just play on her phone, so now I’m wondering. Is it really that bad to have a pair of lips as the background? I mean, I still think it’s funny, but I don’t want my girlfriend to feel uncomfortable. Am I in the wrong?

For context. I got this from an episode of a Podcast called CreepCast. In it the host Isaiah had switched Dentists, and he asked his old dentist to email him pictures of his X-rays, and this picture was one of the ones that was emailed to him.

I didn’t mind the shirtless Jason Mamoa, because I know he’s an attractive guy, so I accepted it.

Oof, when you find yourself arguing about something so inconsequential as a background image enough that you need to involve strangers, it does not bode well.
Not being able to work through petty problems signals a major communication issue.
That said why does the background need to be changed monthly? Why not do a slideshow method where it changes every time you open it? Why not pick one background you both like.
Get your own iPad. Problem solved.
NTA. I can think of several body parts that might be more objectionable than a pair of lips. The GF is way overacting, I mean the screen is on for ten seconds.
