If you saw my last post, this is related.
Ordered an instrument months ago from an international maker. Dealt with almost no communication and sketchy payments (maker is highly esteemed in the community). Finally told super late that it was finished. Paid the balance off, asked for tracking info. Got ghosted for a bit again. Was told that it was almost in the states, that was over a month ago. Still no tracking info. Asked for tracking info through email for a month. Got a reply a month later saying they had no idea how they were going to get me the item and to give them more time.
What happened to it’s almost here? It’s MONTHS late and I have no idea where it is or what’s happening. I know things are crazy but I ordered and received tools from both Europe and Turkey in less than a month during this same time.
Finally contacted my bank and filed a claim. Got an email from the builder asking why I would do that talking about the work that went into building it and that I just needed to wait. Told him it’s already super late and you just told me you have no idea how you would get it to me. Want to support the small guy but I dropped a lot of money on this and it should’ve arrived last year, and now there’s an indefinite timeline of receiving it. I’d rather just be secure in knowing I have my money back than dreading that I just wasted a thousand dollars on nothing.
NTA. They should have had a way of getting the item to you before they started work on it and took any money from you. The continued inconsistency in their behaviour, and the fact they only got back to you once you filed the claim… the whole thing reeks of a scam, and not acting in situations like this is how people get scammed out of money.
