I (37m) am married to (37F) and we have two kids together.
Most ofthe time, my phone is on do not disturb. The only people who can break through it on dnd/silent are my parents, a close friend (38F), and my sister.
So, a few weeks back, my wife gave me a call and my phone was on silent so I didn’t pick up. When she got back home, she wanted to know why I didn’t pick up. Then my sister called because I had called earlier and she didn’t answer. My wife said “I thought your phone was on silent,” and i told her it was, just that I have certain peoples numbers still ring. She asked me why I didnt have her as that, but honestly I never really thought about that. I told her I only had like 4 people on it anyways. She was actually annoyed with me the rest of the day (especially over having that friend on it) for not having her number on the bypass, but honestly I didnt think it’s a big deal. I just said my apologies and moved on.
