It does for me. Sex feels 100x better when you genuinely care for them, and love them.
With my last ex, sex got worse and worse as we were approaching the end of our relationship. We weren’t connected anymore, I didn’t love her. Sex did not feel pleasurable. There were times I couldn’t even finish.
I would only have sex with someone I liked and looks dont matter as much as having a connection personality wise, in reality I am picky that way.

Yep. It’s well known psychologically. If we teach young people this it would prevent a lot of intimacy problems down the road. It’s also why people who were abused, rejected, abandoned, etc. by a parental figure even subtly have more ONS, a constant search to fill the “want me” hole.
Also we need to start teaching young men and women it’s really easy to be wanted. There are millions of options out there. It’s not a conquest to find someone willing.
