Men of Reddit, how does sex with a person you don’t particularly like feel?

I’m not talking about someone you actively dislike or are repulsed by. Just a plain Jane or an average Joe who you picked up at a bar mainly because they were available. They’re not really your type and you’re not wildly aroused. I would like to compare it to what that scenario feels like for me as a woman. See if men really go about sex differently. Women, feel free to chime in but let’s see what men have to say!

    1. It does for me. Sex feels 100x better when you genuinely care for them, and love them.

With my last ex, sex got worse and worse as we were approaching the end of our relationship. We weren’t connected anymore, I didn’t love her. Sex did not feel pleasurable. There were times I couldn’t even finish.

  1. I would only have sex with someone I liked and looks dont matter as much as having a connection personality wise, in reality I am picky that way.

  2. Meh, not worth it. Men and women both usually just get a momentary jolt of “being wanted” from it.
    Which is sad.

We really need to stop making it seem acceptable to have sex with a person you don’t particularly like 😂

    1. Right? I feel like the lead up is way better than the actual act in ons at least for me. Once I got the person home I feel like mission accomplished if I don’t really like them I’m not really looking for more.

      1. Yep. It’s well known psychologically. If we teach young people this it would prevent a lot of intimacy problems down the road. It’s also why people who were abused, rejected, abandoned, etc. by a parental figure even subtly have more ONS, a constant search to fill the “want me” hole.

Also we need to start teaching young men and women it’s really easy to be wanted. There are millions of options out there. It’s not a conquest to find someone willing.

Ehh, not to get too serious! 😂 sometimes it’s fun!

  3. Sort of the same feeling as finding a $5 bill laying on the sidewalk.

There’s a rush of excitement. Then you realize it doesn’t really change anything about your life.

Eventually, it even feels slightly annoying because you wish you made enough money to not get excited over randomly finding $5.
