Me and my girl were having a vacation in Thailand, smoking weed, watching a late night movie and eating pizza. Im laying in bed, shes sitting on it right infront of me. And she lets out a thundering fart.
I laughed. It’s funny. It was loud and shes a cute girl farting. I didn’t mind. Of course when the smell hits i just joked around and mimed that the smell was killing me. She started swearing she didnt fart and that it was me who farted.
At first i thought she was joking but she genuinely would not let up insisting that I admit that I was the one who farted. Idk why but for some reason this really upset me. Like the lying was so insistent and she kept swearing shed never fart like this, and her farts dont stink. So I ended up going to sleep in the other room and ignoring her until she admits it and it sorta blew up into something bigger.

NTA. You’re fighting with her for lying, not for farting. Your initial reaction was to find it funny. It was the lying and accusing you that set you off.
If this is the first time she’s farted in front of you, she’s clearly absolutely mortified. People sometimes lie when they’re that level of embarassed. What you should have done once you realized this was not something she could laugh about was to reassure her that it’s okay. That you don’t find her less attractive just because she farted. That it’s normal for people to fart when they’re relaxed around someone. I can understand your reaction though.

Clearly she’s embarrassed. Doubling down and fighting about it is just as dumb as lying about the damn fart.

NTA at all! My niece once farted in my face as a joke and I got so mad, I told her I wouldn’t spend any time with her anymore if she did it again. She was 7 at the time. She’s 29 now and my threat still stands, not that she ever did it again. I’m extremely sensitive to certain odors.
The lying and gaslighting is even worse, though. She’s probably like me. Most of my farts don’t stink. But an accidental smelly one calls for an apology, not a lie.

She’s weird for that. It’s not hard to just not fart lol. So if she’s this embarrassed about it that she has to lie, why did she do it? I would be so pissed about the lying. Like there’s only two people in this room, the other person knows for a fact who did it. She needs to just own it and not do… all this.

Everything he wrote was true except the part that he was so high he was talking to non existent people in the room. And laughing at blank spaces. I had 1 joint (our first times) he had 2 joints and 4 gummies out of a 6 pack. In about 15 min intervals. Our bed was massive and the mattress was sinking, we had back problems so I shifted all the bedding to the floor space on the left. Even if I sat on the bed I’d be at least 4ft away from him. Above ground. I was sitting on the edge of the bed and he was on the floor. He was laughing sooo hard at a completely unfunny scene from a movie and farted. Loud. Typical. Idc right? Then he started screaming that I farted. I rolled my eyes and watched TV coz he was rambling high af. Then it stunk. Badly. Then he was like “omg omg I’m dying” and he’s been accusing me that I did it when he doesn’t even remember it was HIM. Idc about farts. I’ve known him for 4 years and literally ask him to leave the space if I feel like it coz I’m shy. And now he posts this garbage like a 7 year old.
