For context: today’s been stressful enough, I’m an new mom my daughter is 2 months & 2 weeks old. I had to go to the grocery store to get things to prepare for dinner. I ended up forgetting my stroller for her that I would normally just take her car seat and clip onto & go. Thankfully I had a carrier in her diaper bag and threw that on and did my grocery shopping. Everything was smooth sailing until and elderly women approached me and my daughter and said “ is that a baby in there? Is it a new born? Let me have a look “ I was so taken back that my only response was “ No ??” ( she literally looked like she was a zombie snot coming out her nose eyes blood shot ) And she just stares me down and says “ you little bitch” and causally walks away like she didn’t just make me feel like I was in the matrix 🤦🏽♀️
Oh my god?! You are not the asshole at all. It’s crazy how strangers feel entitled to YOUR child. She was absolutely in the wrong!
NTA, i feel like older women get crazy around babies and act entitled and basically wanna ‘mom’ the baby even though they have no business doing so.
It was just so weirdd why didn’t she say any thing else like awe how sweet you have a baby, she basically made me feel like she wanted to snatch my daughter off my chest idk maybe I’m over reacting
People used to have the village help raise the baby. You know, everyone helped! But, the big part is you *knew* the village. You knew the people. They aren’t strangers.
People never let randos grab their babies.
Not just babies. When my sister was pregnant, an older woman came up and just grabbed her belly. So my sister grabbed her boobs. The lady looked scandalized and my sister said, “Oh I thought we were just touching random people wherever we wanted.”
You know what I do when I see a stranger with a cute brand new baby that I simply must acknowledge? Smile at them! From a distance!!! Older people can be *so* entitled, my god. You are NTA.

When my toddler was a newborn SO many older folks wanted to see her, even if she was covered because of the cold. (We live in the Midwest, US)
And while I get that EVERYONE and their COUSINS (quite literally) loves babies and families are huge out here, leave strange babies and new moms alone 😩

I was outside of a store waiting with my son, I think maybe 1.5 months old(potentially younger). My husband and MIL were in the store and I was waiting for them when a man comes up and asks about my son. That’s fine, he’s cute and I’m obsessed. But then this man offers to hold him so I could go inside to shop. For some reason people have the audacity. I’m sorry this happened. NTA
