AITA for calling my ‘neighbour’ a rude cow

So I live on a terraced street at the very end of it behind a wall, I live in a nice area for more context and the people on my street are posh (white) twats (and yes the fact they are white adds a point to the story because I’m mixed race half black and have been asked if I know where I’m going when I’m literally going into my HOME 😂 I would call any race a posh twat but it just so happens my street is pretty much all white ) who post on the street gc if someone walks past that doesn’t look “right”.

Anyways I was out whilst a package for my grandad (who I live with he’s not very well) was being delivered and evri said they said they left it with someone at the very end of the street. So as a normal person does I go and ring on there doorbell. there front door is all glass I could see the package and I pointed at it and said “hello do you have a package for \*my grandads name\* he’s my grandad” and she was staring at me horribly to start with and she then goes onto say no sorry as I’m looking at the package with my grandfathers name on it. She then proceeds to what I felt like “quizzing” me on the street she started asking what’s the name of the street what are the house numbers , saying I can’t possibly live here and that I’m in the wrong place. Also my grandad has messaged to say if it’s okay if someone came and got it and they said yes ??

Anyways the point I called her a rude cow was when she said I couldn’t possibly live here cause excuse you. I know it wasn’t very nice of me to say but oh my god the cheek on her it just came out.

I’ve experienced similar situations in my area it’s not often at all but you really can you can just tell when something is racially motivated as someone who has experienced it, you just can and it’s horrible like because I’m a nice person I’m just a young girl I dress a little bit “chavvy” but don’t take any assumptions . But there’s all the context I feel bad for calling her that but like idk 😞 makes me feel sad

  1. NTA.

    > I know it wasn’t very nice of me to say

True, but she was being rude and racist. She was attacking you, you were upset and reacted to that.

Not saying everyone sucks, because I think her behaviour was far worse than yours.

  2. Did you say this before or after you laid your hands on the parcel?

You really should have asked her to walk it down to your Grandad’s house and unlock the door in front of her. Then call her a rude cow.
