My boyfriend was on the phone with his friend, let’s call him john. John had been in a fight with his girlfriend (my close friend- Jane). My bf put john on speakerphone. We started arguing about the misogynistic things he was saying. He said awful things like, "when our daughter grows up, she’ll be just like you guys (me & jane). When she gets married, she’ll be some other guys problem." He was saying that he was "in his prime and attractive enough to get another girl easily" and that Jane shouldn’t withhold sex. I recorded him arguing with me and sent it to her. Mind you, i told him I was going to send it before I did. Jane was very unhappy. She told him to find somewhere else to sleep tonight. He sent me messages saying that it was all my fault, I’m a worthless person, I don’t deserve my family, and even brought up some of my past traumas saying that I should go ask for it again. Am I the asshole for tattling on him, or did she deserve to know?

NTA. You told him what you were going to do beforehand and he still carried on saying those things. Your friend had every right to know.
