so me and my friend were playing a pvp game and something the enemy did pissed me off, so in the moment and out of anger I called them pathetic. not theough messages towards them, not in a vc with them, just with my friends. the person I called pathetic has no idea about what I said. somehow that upset my friend and made her get offline because of it. all I know is if the roles were reversed and someone called me pathetic, I wouldn’t give two shits. it’s just some random person who is just raging, who cares? so, aita?
NTA imo. You didn’t say it to the person, didn’t DM them, didn’t blast them in VC. You literally just vented to your friends while gaming, which is like… extremely normal. People say way worse stuff in the heat of a match. Kinda weird your friend took it so personally when the person in question doesn’t even know it happened.

Mild NTA. Raging at games is normal but some people don’t enjoy playing with people who rage or say mean things in response to being upset at a game. And honestly if a game gets you that upset it might be sign to take a small break/breather before continuing. Angry gaming isn’t fun gaming.
