To be honest, I wasn’t sure whether to add this to AIO or AITA. Basically, what happened was that while I was at my father’s house (split custody), I left one of my devices with her. My iPad is linked to my phone, so notes on my phone carry over. She knew my passcode, so she looked through my PRIVATE documents on my notes and other apps that I DID NOT give her permission to look into. Tonight, when I got home, she ‘confronted’ me about some documents that I downloaded THREE MONTHS AGO. She has screen time restrictions, so I downloaded some fanfiction (yes, fanfiction) so I could read past my downtime. She has set limits on everything, even though I’m old enough to regulate. Back to the topic, she IMMEDIATELY started yelling at me, so I ended up having a screaming match with her. I don’t know if this counts as an invasion of privacy, as she is my legal guardian, but I had some notes on there that were kind of like journal/diary entries that entailed some EXTREMELY personal details. AITA for screaming at her and slamming doors? (Late at night) Our relationship has also been strained, as she wants to send me to a different senior college overseas, and I don’t want to leave the country I’m in as of right now.
TL;DR
Mother snoops through private notes, AITA for screaming at her and slamming doors late at night?
Sorry if it wasn’t suited for this sub. Wasn’t sure whether to put it here or in AIO. Advice much appreciated!
