AITA When I call my wife an Artist for her cooking?

Today My wife cooked a great lunch. Meat, protein, vegetable. She put lots of work into it and planned the meal yesterday, then spent hours today preparing it. I was impressed so I said something along the lines of "Wow, you’re such an artist!". She interpreted this as me insulting her. AITA?

  1. Nah, thats on her. Theres literally nothing insulting abt calling someone an artist, shes overly sensitive. I mean, idk exactly how u said it, but thats rlly on her. U dont owe her an apology, unless u want to be the bigger person, but seriously, u dont have to.

  2. NTA. Miscommunication. If she didn’t think it went well, she might have thought you were making fun of her. Also, if it took her that long she might have wanted some help too.

  3. Did you explain that it was supposed to be a complement?

Maybe for her what she did was simple and she thought you were mocking her or being sarcastic?

  4. NTA but I do have a problem believing genuinely compliments towards me aren’t condescending, sounds like she’s the same way

  5. INFO: This sounds like an obvious compliment, have you asked her *why* she took it as an insult? (If so, this would be a better post if you included that information. If not, then perhaps you should have done that before going on the internet.)
