"im about to make a scratch project to describe various common game mechanics to help cheerio because hes interested in bugtesting"
i replied with "ooo! what kind of game?" assuming this "cheerio" was making a game or something. i was talking to someone while messaging, so my brain wasnt fully there.
he then replied,
"twizzo
is our brain located in our ahh
if u mean what kinda game im making, im making a project not a game, and if u mean what kinda game he wants to bugtest, obviously gb. gb is that mfs life" (GB = Gobattle.io)
i grew up in a family that doesnt like cursing or much, so i never really say anything rude to people. i can take a joke, but this came out in a way that didnt feel like a joke that much.
i replied,
"okay, but that’s just a guess i could have made ;-;
i dont like to assume because im often wrong
and pardon me for trying to be engaging."
i dont usually take things offensively, but this was, again, kinda random.
im used to cursing and all- that’s not what bothered me. what got me the most is how it went from a simple question to being called restarted, basically.
he then proceeded to explain that its a common thing people say and that i "need to talk to people more" (a reference to a previous topic where i mentioned that i dont like online chatting because of semi-scarring events.)
it felt kinda like an attack, using my past to prove his point? i know he didnt mean it that way, but it doesnt feel good to have your feelings tossed so… carelessly?
am i the doofus here? i dont really know. im probably overreacting. its just cultures clashing ig.

NTA. From what I could tell, you just asked what kinda game. You didn’t qualify it as a game someone else was making, just what game are you talking about. I think you might be slightly oversensitive to his reply, which is fair all things considered. It probably wasn’t fair of him to assume you just automatically knew what game he likes. Did you know this other guy, Cheerio and his gameing proclivities? The other guy sounds kinda douchy, IMHO. What was the “common thing people say” that he was referencing? A more appropriate reply might have been something like “learn to read fool,, I don’t know where your brain is, but mine is between my shoulders where it belongs….your’s on the other hand…i don’t care to speculate. I didn’t ask if you were making a game, i asked “what kind of game?” I’m also not a mind reader, so i couldnt possibly have known what game some clown named cheerio thinks is life. Try reversing your own cranial rectal inversion before coming for me next time, twizzo.
i do agree, i probably was a little sensitive- more than i should have been. XD
i wasnt sure what all to clarify in the post, but i do know this “cheerio” and i know he likes the game “Gobattle.io” but i know that people can also have other hobbies, hence my query.
