AITA for hanging up posters (20M)

a couple days ago i rearranged my room and decided to hang up three posters of the german singer Nina Chuba, i like her music and bought them a few days ago.

now my brother and my friends all had mixed opinions about it.

my friend didn’t say anything about it and my Brother just looked at them and said its weird that i have them.

my dad also commented on them and said that i should probably get different decor for my room.

am i the asshole for having posters of a woman in my room as a guy

  1. NTA It’s your room.

    What’s weird about it?

Why would the posters be bad “decor”

It doesn’t seem weird or bad to me for a 20 year old man to have posters up of a musical act he likes or indeed to have posters of “a woman” up in his room.

    1. NTA. Right? My sister could hang a newspaper on her wall and I wouldn’t give it a second thought. It’s her room. OP the only opinion that matters on your room is YOURS. It’s really weird that all these people have opinions on it

  2. …is the person in the poster dressed in a bikini? Are the posters garish in colour? Are the posters visible walking past the doorway casually? Ie – not deliberately looking into the room, would I catch a glimpse? Those are the only reasons I might see how someone could have a complaint but even then… your room, your choice. If it is that much of a drama put them on the back of your door or on the roof so they aren’t immediately visible? But NTA

  3. NTA – Your father probably doesn’t remember his own adolescence. Young men have been hanging up posters of women for \*decades.\*

  4. Why does your family feel that their opinion matters? You’re an adult, as long as you are hanging posters that are of an appropriate nature, NTA. LOL
