I know this is oddly specific, but I refuse to play Minecraft or terraria with them because she won’t budge on the notion that she needs all netherite armor and OP weapons or she wants to use her profile that has all the best items in the game. I want to start the game from scratch with them and all suffer together, building up from scratch, but she can’t see the fun in that. She says “oh I won’t screw with you guys!” But she doesn’t understand the point. We want to all be equal. It’s so annoying. I just won’t have fun if one person basically “wins” before the game even starts (for lack of a better word). Not that it’s competitive. But it’s a similar vibe to cheating, except it’s lighthearted and the motivation behind it is a desire for companionship. Lmk what ya’ll think. I’m curious if that makes me the unreasonable one or if all my feelings are valid.

You might just not be compatible in playing styles. You want to start from scratch and suffer together. She suffered through the start once and doesn’t want to do it again. Your preference being shared with other friends doesn’t make it better. But it may mean you’ll need to play seperately. NAH.
No she didn’t suffer from the start, she gives herself the items or her boyfriend gives her all the good stuff.
She probably just doesn’t like the grind and prefers a different type of gameplay, which is fine.
I dont understand what “give herself items” accusarion is supposed to mean in minecraft. You collect and craft yourself items.
You can use commands to put items in your inventories.

I honestly can relate to both sides.
I get not wanting to start over from the beginning (esepcially in games where I have a lot of progress on it like 7 Days to Die, MC, or GTA Online).
However, you’re valid for not wanting to start on a world where she has a lot of progress and done it all, especially if she already beat the Ender dragon.
It’s just a difference in how y’all play
LOL… my son joined a Magic group freshman year of college. One dude made/drew up a deck of every single card. He literally made his own cards covering every single option. My son immediately dropped out because what fun is it playing with one dude that has the solve for every opportunity. It’s one thing if over the years you have amassed a crapload of good cards…its another to have a guy draw all his own good cards and then win every single game because of his fake deck.
nta – i have a friend like that. he is even more picky, not just the has to have the best gear, but any small flaws in the game are unfotgiveable to him, any slightly unfairness…its all he will talk about. Also demanding 100s of mods. i want to play from the start, suffer together. for many games i like the stuggle and enjoy the base game with no mods.
