I’m a photographer who likes taking nature urban photos going up small hikes to catch the skyline stuff like that I recently went on a beach trip and got called out for simply not wanting to stand around taking photos my sibling on the beach I just wanted to just rest for a few hours since just earlier we just got off from a 4 hour trip so I simply do my vacations non excessively at times I even try and book my own solo daytrips or my own little side quests to not have someone hand me their phone or make me walk back to the room and get my camera while swimming in the beach AITA for just simply wanting to just rest and relax and not have the pressure of just sending photos all the time and taking them??? I slept at 11am and woke up at 11:10 since they liked how the light looked by a tree??? I kept getting called out with the excuse "you have a camera and yet you won’t take photos of us" I get their need for photos they even use the excuse of "i don’t have an iphone i need high quality pictures" man I just wanna take a rest once in awhile this vacation does not even feel fun anymore since I’m always getting pressured to run back to the room for a camera or wake up at sunrise just for a photoshoot?? AITA??A
EDIT: just to add more details I’ve even gotten my camera snatched right out of my bag while i was a sleep by one of my relatives once since I "was too lazy to do it"

Vacation means taking a break from what you do for a living, right?!?!?
So, if you are a photographer, of course vacation means you aren’t taking photos.
You should probably stop bringing a camera with you on vacation.
Yeah honestly being a photographer is just a side hustle but it’s just sickening to be everyone’s personal photographer at times it’s even gone so far I’ve gotten my camera used without permission since they want photos but I was asleep 😭
There should be a safe in your hotel room. It’s big enough to fit a camera in. Put it in there.
NTA. Keep saying no. You deserve a break too. If people take your camera without permission I’d not vacation with them again or get a lockbox so they can’t take it.
“NO.” Is a complete sentence. Use it. Often. NTA
Say no to people and don’t leave your camera where it can get stolen, by family members or otherwise. NTA, but I’m a little baffled by why you can’t just say “Dude, I’m not getting out of the water/getting up/getting up at sunrise to take photos just because you want me to” or “I just traveled for four hours, I want to rest for a while.”
I couldn’t make it through the first sentence.
Then that means you read most of it.
It’s perfectly fine if you don’t like taking photos on your vacation, NTA.
I would suggest you to start using commas though.
NTA
If there’s a next time don’t bring your camera. Tell them if they want you to be their personal photographer they need to pay you for it.
NTA. And put your camera in your hotel safe when you’re not using it so the relatives can’t snatch it again. Politely, but firmly, announce to everyone that you are off photographer duty because you are on vacation. They need to make their own photos.
NTA People tend not to think of photography as a job (they think it’s a hobby). You might try asking them if they would do your taxes, program your computer, tell you if this looks infected, or in any other way ask them to work during the vacation. That might help them understand. But, really, you might just not be able to go on vacation with them.
