AITA A coworker asked me me for help but ended up closing the door on me

We work for transit my coworker and I are setting up our buses for our trips today she asked me for help with her bus I gave her my advice I don’t get out the bus to help physically and a few minutes later I see it still hasn’t helped so I tell her something else but she doesn’t respond just closes the door on me
We’ve had positive interactions before but this just seemed really negative do you see me doing anything that could offend her or am I just overthinking this

  1. It’s difficult to understand what’s going on here without more specifics. But in general, yes, it’s an asshole move to give unsolicited advice when someone asks for physical help. YTA

  2. INFO: What exactly is happening here? It’s difficult to understand since this is one long run-on sentence. Could you explain what “closing the door on me” means? Are you speaking figuratively or was an actual door involved?

    1. She closed the bus doors on me she was asking help with programming the sign and I told her what to do but I didn’t get out to go help her

      1. Were you physically unable to show your coworker how to correct her issue? If so, I don’t see an issue here.

If not, if you just felt like staying put, then yes, YTA. It costs you nothing to help someone out when they ask.

  3. If she asked for something you knew required physical help and all you gave was advice in return then yes YTA.

  4. Potentially YTA. If someone is obviously struggling with something and you just offer comments that aren’t that helpful, it’s understandable they’ll be frustrated.
