AITA for complaining about the family not following building instructions

We recently moved to a new house and currently we are renovating the second floor, most of my family know about construction and some work as civil engineers so two are currently working on the second floor swapping the floor, recently I was able to purchase a bed of my own, although I’m not as good as them since they work in a more traditional was (more freestyle) I’m much better at mannual reading/following instructions, when the bed materials arrive I insisted on doing it myself but they still joined in inmediatly, that’s when I notticed that the couldn,t read the instructions and started doing what they thought was best but they were messing up putting wrong pieces and even butting heads, so I decided to go down and complain to another familiar, were she just put a mean face and just said that I’m comnplaining, eventually she told them both and now the situation just feels uncomfortable. AITA?

  1. NTA if you wanted to put your own bed together and they ended up messing it up after being asked not to do it then they’re the assholes

  2. NTA

You stated you were going to do it yourself and they didn’t respect that.

I know they probably thought they were being helpful at first but there’s probably a part of them that thought they would do a better job because of their career.

Which isn’t cool because being an engineer or knowing how to build a house isn’t the same as building a piece of furniture from a company that has instructions for a reason.

  3. NTA

It’s important that your bed be put together correctly so you don’t end up on the floor.

But are you saying that they literally are unable to read? Seems odd given that they have degrees and have passed licensure exams.
