AITA for “complement fishing”?

I was watching the Superbowl with my friend Lina, my friend Tonya, Linas crush, and Linas friends (we are all in college btw) when Lina asked if we ever get completed if we feel like "are they just being nice or are they just making fun of me" I replied, "yeah… The only time I don’t feel like that is when this group of drunk girls came up to me and sang you are so beautiful." I genuinely didn’t mean to "look for complements" I just wanted to share the funny story about the drunk girls but I felt the energy suddenly change and it felt like everyone was staring daggers into me and Linas crush said "you actually feel like that?" I replied "yeah" with an awkward smile realizing I messed up then she continued "girl you are so cute (other things I can’t remember) you shouldn’t feel like that" at that moment the energy was SO BAD so I quickly over exaggerated my expression and looked super confused and uncomfortable and said thanks. Lina then said how I looked so scared and uncomfortable and how I can’t take complements because I quite literally looked like this "😳" and she is correct lol.

Before Linas crush got there Lina said how she hated her now friend because of how her crush used to flirt with her and got super emotional later on because her crush keeps blowing her off and ignoring her messages sometimes. It was this entire thing. It got so bad that I am now staying the night with Lina because my friend Tonya and I are afraid to leave her alone. I genuinely didn’t mean anything by what I said I am just super socially awkward and now I feel terrible. I messaged Tonya and asked if she also noticed the energy shift and she said yeah and how I definitely messed up. I messaged Lina immediately and explained and she seemed cool with it but I don’t know if she’s just saying that. I wanted to get other peoples opinions. Thank you and please don’t be too hard on me, I know I probably deserve it but still.
