What the title says. So I (15) have been inviting Cauldron (2F (? suspecting intersex, will get her checked)) into my house and letting her stay the night on my bed after she kept meowing at the apartment door for over a month, broke in and got onto the elevator thrice, and broke into my house and room at last. She is currently here, her 4th time being over. My mother (51F)’s chill with it, and I don’t give a fuck what my father (60M) thinks because he comes over once a blue moon (parents are divorced on good terms). She’s pretty happy napping with me overnight, and is a fatass chud that keeps meowing for food which I do provide. We don’t keep her in daytime as she very much still likes venturing outside and baiting strangers into petting her for hours. Recently (read: a few hours ago), I found out that a 3rd floor resident has been having Cauldron over at daytime, whiiich may prolly be why she was always meowing at the door. But, here’s the thing, the whole ass apartment is a workplace, specifically for lawyers -all individual-, and I’m the only one who resides at all times and uses it as a house. Also, my mother has informed me that our next door neighbour (~45F) does not like cats. But unfortunately I don’t think I will give a fuck about that as neighbour is here 5 days a week for 14 hours, and I have Cauldron over at night anyway. 3rd floorer seems pretty chill judging by Cauldron being all well and happy, so, AITA, or WIBTA if I kept inviting over Cauldron? I like her very very much and she likes me very very much and thankfully she doesn’t piss and shit all over my room at 4am causing me to throw half my belongings into the laundry, like Velvet did that one time I invited her over. She’s a lovebug who absolutely loves being pampered and given attention. She also loves my Aftonsparv. Sorry for TMI, I just really love Cauldron.
INFO: whats the rules for pets on your lease…
Not stated! My uncle (40M) who used to be in this apartment had cats, so it’s prolly chill. No statement has been made in the 5 years this apartment has existed.
I think someone should probably take ownership of this cat.
This really sounds like someone else’s outdoor cat and not a street cat. YWBTA to keep someone else’s cat, and shouldn’t be feeding her if she is, especially if she’s already overweight.
Oh sorry that was hyperbole! I should’ve stated that. She’s all good in terms of weight BMI, just bigger in size compared to other street cats. And also should probably mention that I only started seeing her around 2 months ago.
A cat that has only been around 2 months that is super friendly and well-fed is almost certainly someone’s pet, so everything else I said still holds.
I’m not sure this is an AITA question. But I do wonder if you’re going to be down for all of the negative parts of pet ownership too? Like making sure she has her shots, taking care of any flea issues, and paying if she needs to go to the vet?
What does your lease say, are pets allowed?
This is more should I have a pet which you do now. Or more accurately, your cat has servants.
People working out of residential areas must accept the consequence.
