AITA for reporting Harassment at my job?

About a month ago, two ladies I work with commented on one of the senior members of my team (he is above me) sending lewd/inappropriate photos to them via snapchat. They both agreed it made them very uncomfortable , but they also asked me not to say anything.

But I did. I immediately told my direct supervisor, who informed HR, an investigation concluded on Friday that said the accusations were founded.

When I informed my friend, we’ll call her Sharon, of what occured, she said I was wrong to report it. I disrespected the wishes of the complainants who now may face retaliation, and it’ll be my fault if they do.

I disagreed, thinking that 1. Who else is going to potentially suffer this? And 2. If there’s retaliation, that’s on the company, not me (and hopefully lawyers to litigate).

So, AITA for reporting sexual harassment even if the victims didn’t want me to say anything?

Edit: I am not a manager. Edited to correct this, language made it sound like it was.

Thank you all for your feedback as well, positive and negative.
