I (21M) was hanging out at my girlfriend’s bestie’s house, and it was me, my girlfriend, her friend, and her friend’s boyfriend (who I know quite well). We were hanging out and chilling by the pool since the weather’s been quite nice here, drinking and chatting.
Whenever I drink I get quite an urge to pee. This girl’s house was structured so that the bathroom is located in the middle of the house, meaning I would have to dry off, go inside and walk through the house, pee, then come back out, which was a bit of a hassle. So I discreetly went off to the side (out of view from the pool because of a wall) and relieved myself on the lawn.
I hopped back in and was fine for a bit. But I got another urge to pee probably 40 minutes later. So I hopped back out and did the same. When I came back, my girlfriend’s friend asked if I was okay and why I kept getting out. I told her that I had just gone to pee and she was like "where?", and I told her "just on the lawn". She looked disgusted and told me I was gross. My girlfriend backed her up but the other guy seemed to give me a sympathy look. I think he (and every other college-aged guy) would have peed hundreds of times in random peoples yards at parties and such.
Was I the asshole here?
Look you gotta be able to read the room. You weren’t at some rager, you were chilling with a small group of people at her house. Then you peed all over a lawn she probably lays on, or at least occasionally walks barefoot. That’s gross and rude.
