I was walking through the (indoor) mall when I saw a woman putting a pee pad down for her dog right in the main hallway. I asked if she was serious and she smiled and said yes. I said that’s disgusting and she started waving around the unused (yet) pad saying it’s fine. I insisted, no, it’s disgusting. For the record, I have a small dog that’s pee pad trained only, so I understand the function of the pads. I would also never bring my dog inside a mall, grocery store, restaurant…
AITA? Or is she? I’m just wondering where the majority stands on this.
NTA. I am perplexed why she would show the unused one, duh you meant the fact that the dog was about to use it. Did she really think it was the pad???
I mean, NTA, but what did you think you were going to accomplish? She’s showing you that she’s willing to violate the social contract in a pretty outlandish way, and a mall is not a place you have the authority to kick a person out of…so by confronting her, what you’re going to get is yelled at.
Just tell a security guard or something and let the chips fall where they may.

I love dogs as much as the next person but letting your dog pee inside the mall instead of just going outside is so fucking nasty. Your dog shouldn’t even be at the mall unless it’s a disability aid. We don’t let service animals pee inside. That lady needed to be called out.
