AITA I’m the leader of a school food bazaar which is in march. I told my members to lets go inspect the prices of the food not buy next week. A member said is too early and would be meaningless and I should go to achool first (they know im sick from a fever). One thing led to another and a argument.

I’m Boy 1

Boy 1: I know we have a lot of tasks, but that’s why I’m the leader. I’ll organize everything and set deadlines so it doesn’t get chaotic. Researching the market next week is just prep for the bazaar; we’re not buying anything yet. Not everyone has to go to the market.

Boy 1: I get that the bazaar is in March, but we should use this time to get ready and be organized.

Boy 1: Remember, I’m the leader, so let’s stick to the plan.

Boy 1: Trust the plan I made and follow the tasks. I promise it’ll work out.

Boy 1: Also, if you have issues, please message me privately next time, not in the group chat.

Girl 1: You should also listen to our ideas. It’s not just yours.

Girl 1: Honestly, you could just do everything yourself.

Boy 1: Okay, that works. My Pacman idea came from me, and I also picked the food.

Boy 1: I’ll go along with your plan. Show me how you want to organize the tasks so we can move efficiently. We don’t want to rush.

Boy 1: My role will be cooking. Just tell me what to cook.

Girl 1: Why do you get to decide everything? What about the rest of us?

Boy 1: The Pacman game came from Boy 2, and I don’t know who chose the food. If you pick the food, make sure to check the ingredients, the cost, and how long it takes to cook. I handle the deadlines and schedule as leader. You guys can choose the food, booth design, logo, company name, and slogan. Anything else?

Boy 1: If you pick the food, company name, and game, then what’s my role? What do you want me to do?

Boy 1: To clarify, as leader, I set the schedule, organize tasks, and make sure everything gets done on time. That doesn’t mean I decide everything. You still get to pick the food, booth design, logo, company name, and slogan.

Boy 1: My job is just to decide when and how we do tasks so we don’t rush and the bazaar goes smoothly. If you have ideas, share them properly in the group chat or PM me so we can discuss.

Boy 1: This way, everyone’s ideas are heard, and we can figure out the best way to implement them.

Girl 1: You’re not even showing up. How can you help? You just chat but don’t do anything. You say you’re the leader but you’re a burden to us.

Girl 2: OMG WTH.

Boy 1: Let’s discuss this on Thursday so I can explain my side clearly.

Girl 2: What’s happening, bro?

Boy 1: I’ll explain all my plans on Thursday. Sorry for being absent, I had a fever.

Boy 1: Also, next week you don’t need to go to the market. I’ll go alone and do the research in advance.

Am I the asshole?

  1. For the love of all that is holy, hit a return key once in a while. This is unreadable and you literally haven’t even asked the one question you need to ask in this sub here which is “Am i the asshole”.

  2. The first 5 statements are all boy 1, is that right? You were talking woth yourself?
Sorry I can’t read it all in this format to provide feedback

      1. Thank you for fixing the formatting.
The chat is kind of unhelpful without more context but you contradict yourself saying pacman was your idea the saying it was someone else’s actually.

I think you need to sit down as a group, delegate tasks to everyone and all agree together on the details. This seems like NAH just young people communicating badly.

  3. I’m gonna say yta mainly because from what you’ve put here you sound like an insufferable, arrogant ah. Being a leader isn’t about making all the decisions, it’s about being a point of coordination. I get wanting to be organised but this just seems a bit much.

  4. YTA if you have to keep saying you’re the leader then you aren’t acting like one. If you can’t listen to your team and react accordingly then you should stick to middle management.

      1. Call for a in person regroup, accept full accountability and use it to move forward. The room will always get messier before it gets tidy!
