Am I the asshole?
I really like one guy(let’s call him Felix), it seems that he had same feelings to me, we’ve been talking for a long time, seeing each other. Suddenly, Felix goes back to his ex, but he doesn’t stop spending time with me, It’s just that our communication has been shortened. Basically, I’m the one who has stopped this communications, realizing it’s just a waste of time, despite having fucked-up feelings.
And my best friend(let’s call her Anne) suddenly starts communicating with him, which I was completely unaware of. When I found out about their talking stage Anne’s answer to my question was, "Well, I’m doing it for you to find out information about Felix," but all the information was reaching me last.
Yesterday, I checked Felix’s IG account and saw Anne’s favorite number in his bio. I messaged her, and she says she doesn’t know what is going on. When I asked her to find the answer what is happening, Felix told her that it’s a reference to Anne. She has continued saying that she doesn’t understand what’s going on.
We were hanging out with Anne. I notices out of the corner of my eye that he follows in her private acc on social with three subscribers, where even I wasn’t allowed to access this account. She started explaining she doesn’t know what he’s doing in the list of subscribers, that she didn’t know where he got the link from and etc. I realized it was bullshit, of course. In the end, she confessed that she knew everything, but just didn’t want to tell me true story, so she lied. I start YELLING to her to tell me the truth. Anne apologized profusely and told me that Felix confessed to her and offered a relationships, but she refused and didn’t want to tell me because "she knew you’d be offended."
I’m really offended because she clearly saw how much I hoped for his return and I was texting him (she literally sat next to me and watched me humiliate myself). She kept silent the whole time of our hangout. She apologizes umpteen times, I didn’t give a clear answer on her apologizes and said I didn’t plan to stop communicating with her, but I’m so fucking offended. When I got home, I saw that Anne literally blacklists me everywhere
Question: Am I an asshole?
Will a guy offer a relationship if he is given the impression that there is no chance?
I don’t know if ya’ll are a bunch of young children, because this post is giving me middle school drama energy, so if you are then please get off this app and return when you are old enough to use it.
This whole situation sounds messy. Your ‘friend’ seemed like they wanted that guy and they got together. If I were you (or your friend or whatever) I would just cut my losses and move on with my life as these don’t seem like the type of people I would want to surround myself with long term.
