Me (16) and my best friend who i’ll call Amy (17) started v@ping a few months ago, which i wouldn’t consider an addiction for myself, but with her it’s another story.
She got addicted really easily and her mood would depend on if she was deprived or not, which i found surprising as i wasn’t like that at all and we had been at it for the same time. Something happened a few weeks ago when her v@pe ran out and she would text me about three times a day saying she was itching for a hit which i found annoying and a tad pathetic, but i was also worried about how it was affecting her. (i didn’t have one at the time)
i was gifted one from another friend who i’ll call Tilly (17) about a week ago when we all hung out, and Amy was hitting it religiously.
Amy thought Tilly still had it, as we didn’t tell Amy knowing she was already a bit too addicted and we didn’t want her coming around just for it instead of our company. so when we were planning a hangout again she was throwing suggestions left and right for Tilly to be able to come because she thought she still had it, so i eventually admitted that i had it so that Amy would stop bothering her. Tilly wasn’t able to come and so me and Amy hung out alone which we do often.
The next morning i was in a deep sleep, dreaming and shit when my snapchat started going off. Amy was at my house. it was 8:30 in the morning when i would normally be asleep until 10-11 so that really pissed me off. i opened her messages to her begging me for the v@pe, saying she will pay me, just for the day, just one hit. I was shocked as she showed up to my house uninvited begging me to feed her addiction. I said no over and over again and then she started getting angry. I told her to never do crack because she deadass sounded like a crackhead.
She threatened to knock on my door, loud too. she said it ‘wasn’t even mine’ and a bunch of other crazy shit (it was gifted to me as a little thank you gift from Tilly) but when i told her it was fucked up to drive to my house for that, she would plead for just one hit. She sent a snap to our trio group chat. She was at my front door. Tilly told me she sent a snap at 8:30AM of her standing outside my house. My parent were asleep and i would be dead caught with a v@pe.
She was on her way to work so she couldn’t stay around long and eventually left in defeat, which obviously caused tension between us because i was shocked she would ever do that and i was pretty disappointed in her. For the next few days (up until now) she’s been asking to come over, and i’ve made excuses or left her on opened each time. she’s texted back and today she has just apologised, but it was pretty half-assed. I don’t really know what to do because right now i’m not interested in hanging out with her, which sucks because she’s one of my best friends, but i still think she’s using me for my v@pe.
What should I do?

Are you talking about a normal vape that contains nicotine? Or are you talking about a THC vape here?
Because in my head, one is worse than the other. In the first case she could just go old school and get some cigarettes and smoke them or she could just go cold turkey. If it’s the latter case though, she has some problems and is giving you a good test case to just not do THC vapes.
NTA but you need to throw your vape away and keep a few screenshots of her being a fiend in case she tries some shit. It’s illegal for minors to have vapes for a reason, that shit melts your lungs
Yeah for sure. I don’t think she’d do anything drastic though.
If she’s showing up outside your house begging for a vape and your parents will be fuming if they know you have one id say that’s enough to warrant covering your ass.
Get rid of the vape. Either bin it or give it back to the friend. Now, if she turns up she can’t do anything. Tell her how her behaviour is making you feel and allow her to make amends or leave the friendship to fade away since she doesn’t seem to care about you
I work in pediatric surgery. I have seen shitty vapes these teens get ahold of kill kids over a very short period of time. We just recently did an organ harvest of an otherwise healthy 16yr old girl. This vaping shit is literally worse than smoking imho…
Yeah I’ve heard stories… I never recharge them or try sketchy ones but it’s scary to think something so simple can be killing me as we speak. I will be quitting.
You all need to stop vaping. It’s really dangerous for your lungs. Go google what it does to your lungs. If you stop, your friend will stop jonesing to you. Sad how addicted your friend is. She needs intervention and needs to know she has an addictive personality and should avoid ALL drugs moving forward or she will end up on the streets. Horrible and sad story.

Why are you censoring “vape”? Also, your friend needs a massive intervention urgently. Vaping really messes up your lungs and you should quit too.
