Context: My cousin asked me to boil some meat for her to cook for my mum tommorrow. I said no as I was out at the cinema and would not be back until around 7pm. I ended up getting back around 8:17pm. She called me just as I was getting in. I told her I stood by my words. She said don’t cross the line with her. I shouted or what. She hung up the phone.She drove over to the house. her argument was I should have taken initiative to boil the meat and she hadn,t told me to do it earlier because her father in law was in the hospital. I said I shouldn’t have shouted but I did mean what I said. She said i should get out. I asked her what right she has to throw me out. She cited that she manages mums money and makes sure the account is healthy and I do fuck all.I don’t have a job but i manage certain things for mum. Take her to medical appointments,cook her food and clean the house. She also has carers that come in to check welfare and see to her hygiene needs.They access the property with a key safe I had installed. I called them and had mums needs assessed. I,m not going to boil the meat. Mainly out of a feeling that I have been disrespected. Am I the asshole?

She wants to cook some food for mum. She purchased the meat on mums card last friday. The talk was that she and mum would prepare it and it was a good thing I would not be around. Then today she asked me to boil the meat in pre preperation for them to cook I told her I wasn’t going to do that as that was a two hour job and I would not be back at the house till around 7. Ended up getting back around 8:17.
That doesn’t answer the question though. Why is anyone boiling meat?
Could they be making stew? Soup? Is there a meet that’s boiled prior to BBQ or smoked maybe? I cook alot and am confused. I thaw meat in the fridge overnight. Only boil for soup and stews, but I don’t preboil the meat.

I googled. I’ve decided she’s making beef tongue, ox tail or pork belly. She might have meant simmer, not boil. I hope OP lets us know.
Do you just put the meat in the pot and let it boil for 2 hours?
I did simmer some stew meat for about 4 hours to make a beef onion soup. That was pretty delicious.

So you don’t have a job and don’t contribute besides cooking for your mom. I think the bigger issue here is your attitude about not being willing to help the family that is providing for you. You weren’t distracted, you were disrespectful.

1. cook for mum 2. Chaperone and book medical care. I.e GP and hospital appointments as well as dental care(mum has suffered a traumatic brain injury) 3. General safe gaurding. mum has thrown away important letters like council tax documents and so on Mums has misplaced the house keys meaning she could have been trapped in the house. I had to replace those out of pocket. 4 contributed 12000 pounds to the mortgage although this was an inheritance from my grandmother. Despite all this you could definitely have a point.
Ok, so ETA , except your mum –
who should definitely get something better than boiled meat for dinner after having to put up with all of this.

1. The boiled meat is one ingridient in a stew. The final dish would be a soup that goes with rice similar to curry
2. Thank you for actually making a judgement. Most people on here are enquiring about the recipe and cooking process instead of actually saying if answering AITA. Sor far as far as I have seen 1 I am the asshole and your comment saying everyone is the asshole. Looking forward to more comments that actually make a judgement. I might be missing something but i Don’t think what food is being cooked is the main point.
3 I probably would have just said I will do it tommorrow morning or something if not for the for my cousin saying stuff like “Don’t cross the line with me” or “Get out”. and sending whatsapp messages tellimg me to watch my tone or else.
