AITA Girlfriend keeps smoking pot in the house.

So my girlfriend and my sister keep going in our spare bedroom and smoking pot while my 3 yo kid sits in the living room and watches tv. I work night shift and atleast 2-3 days a week I’ll get home and the whole house smells like weed am I the asshole for getting upset with her about this? I’ve asked her nicely multiple times to just go out on the front porch and smoke it, it’s like a never ending battle.

    1. So it’s the BFs fault that the GF smokes weed inside the home while he’s away at work, despite him telling her not to do that multiple times?

      How is that his fault?

  2. Are you serious? No way this is a serious post.

Obviously NTA. You told your GF that you’d prefer if she smokes outside and not indoors, making the home smell like weed. She keeps ignoring this and you being feeling irritated isn’t you being assholish in anyway.

Not to mention this GF of yours is exposing that child to weed. Real smart move. Not like the smoke can reach the child and negatively affect said child. /s

What even is the thought process of this GF of yours?

    1. Not satire at all. I’ve had a lot of thoughts about leaving the women in question here. But the state I live in is all for mothers and I’m scared of how the whole custody thing would work out. Atleast now I can try to keep my child safe.

      1. If you leave her for this go guns blazing, get the state involved and police as she is endangering your child. Get legal advice first how to play it but do not be kind.

      2. sorry to hear that bro. i can’t speak for you, but if it was my child (and i don’t have a child) then i would’ve left her the moment the 2nd time that’s happened. baby’s are very fragile. she probably thinks “it’s just weed it’ll be okay” but it most definitely isn’t. find a way to gain evidence, set up a secret camera or something and then take her to court when you file for custody.

if you’re already thinking it, then you probably should. much luck to you

This shouldn’t even be a question. You’re the parent responsible for the safety of your TODDLER. Someone exposes your child to drug smoke, you dump them. You can’t trust someone who doesn’t understand why they can’t do that.

    1. Unfortunately the state I live in is all for mothers and I wouldn’t have much of a chance of full custody. I feel it’s better that I stay and keep him safe when I can then leave and him be around it ALL THE TIME.

  4. NTA. Also not cool that the kid is in the house. Why pot heads think everyone wants to smell weed constantly. Just devolop a coke problem and be ashamed of it in private like a normal person.

  5. Nope I smoke too but you know what I never do at all under any circumstance, is smoke around a child. I don’t even have kids but I understand the potential very real damage it could do. You should have another conversation with her but be more strict about it or blunt, so she understands this isn’t something that’s just gonna be talked away and forgotten. Also maybe try speaking to your sister and tell her your very real worries for your child, her nephew. Hope things work out if not you should think of your child first and I’m sorry if that sounds harsh or immature but it’s the truth.
