So my close friend suggested I try the dating apps and I turned 25. My age range for guys I just had it at first whatever they set the default and realize I can change it. So I had it at 22-30 when I was 24 and just got the app, mind you I turned 25 recently. So I have a ton of guys aged 22-23 matching me calling me old or a cougar or saying they thought I was "their age or younger. Damnnn you are old” and it’s guys that are 1-3 years younger. I changed my age to 24-33 after that and I’m still getting the comments. I made the mistake of posting my birthday photos on Instagram with my cake having "25” in it and you know so many guys saying they had no clue I am that old.
I have to say my sister is 21 and I think if some people know her they think we’re the same age or something. I’ve always been mistaken for younger than I am which I didn’t like but recently the 25 is old thing is killin me. I just finished college so maybe I do come off "younger” since I’m at a similar stage of life to my little sister. Anyway what do you say when people call you old at 25… idk to me it’s strange because I don’t get why people act like 25 means it’s over for you but maybe I’m missing something

I suggest you look at it this way, these guys are looking at you from the mental age of 13. I sometimes substitute teach at my local high schools when I have a free day. One thing I’ve noticed over the years, besides the fact that boys start maturing later than girls, is that males don’t really mature until they’re 20s. Some in their early twenties but most of them not until they’re about 26 or older. The fact that they’re calling you old reflects more on their mental age than on your physical appearance (or age). You may want to raise your lower age limit.

I think it’s very childish. Like the little boy who scribbles on the schoolbook of the little girl he likes, that’s something that is elementary school level, middle school at most. No one older than 14 should be using that kind of tactic.

You’re still a young woman. If it’s any consolation, my girlfriend is 7 years older than me and it’s been great so far
