How to emotionally move on after realizing someone is unavailable?

I developed a mutual gray-area dynamic with someone I enjoyed talking to. Nothing happened, but there was chemistry. I later found out he’s in a relationship, so I quietly pulled back. We barely interact now, but I still feel unsettled by the “almost.” He frequently comes to me to talk given that he probably noticed me pulling back. Has anyone dealt with this, and how long did it take to fully let go when you still see the person everyday?

  1. If you’ve never been in a relationship with this person (cheater), then find someone else to be in a relationship with. In this case (not all), the best was to get over someone is to get under someone. I can tell you there are plenty of other people you can have chemistry with.

  2. Time

If he is flirty with you ask him to back off that behavior. That will stoke things

I am struggling to reconcile “we barely interact” with “He frequently comes to me to talk” can you explain a bit? It might matter on how to let go

    1. \++woman, we are both students so we see each other almost everyday. I barely initiated conversation but he would approach me when I haven’t spoken to him in a while.

  3. Let me make sure I’m understanding you… you want so badly to be his second choice, the reason for his emotional infidelity, and add a shit ton of drama to his life… that you come to ask random internet men how to navigate the situation?

I realize the dude is the guilty party in this situation, but have some respect for yourself and cut the guy off.
