Newbie here, had a post removed for ranting so from now on I’ll behave. Here’s a silly one from a couple of weeks ago.
Lady berated me for blowing my nose in public. Not at or near anyone, just in public. Went to a coffee shop and they had some scent going which messed with my allergies. Wiped but felt like I was going to sneeze so I covered with my sleeve. Got a few napkins went to corner and blew my nose once. Lady literally gave me a finger wag walked up to me and said it was rude and dangerous because I was spreading disease and it wasn’t something a civilized person would do.
Is this asshole behavior? The guy behind her said she was being a bitch so and she stormed off so we know what he thought. What about everyone else?

Where do you live that people behave and speak to each other like this?

Globally it depends on where you are in the world (blow or just snort it all back in), but assuming US for this vote
Hearing and watching someone desperately try to snort back all his freaking mucus and swallow it is 1000x way more disgusting than using a tissue.
I swear these strange situations happen way too frequently in America lol.
Are people there just insane or something? Who gets pissed off at someone blowing their freaking nose?

NTA. I’ve heard people complain about others blowing their noses while sitting at a table in a restaurant, but you went to a corner away from others and were discreet. She was unhinged and out of line.
Edit to add: fellow allergy sufferer. Anyone who wants to say that I’m ‘spreading disease’ with my allergies will get a full dissertation on the subject.
No, not TA. If you’d have sneezed or coughed all over people and you were able to cover your nose and mouth then that is a bit AH behaviour but from the sounds of it you were using a tissue and weren’t near people. She’s TA, not you
NTA — blowing your nose into a napkin in the corner is basic human maintenance, not a biohazard event, and if that offends her she’s going to have a rough time existing in a world full of sinuses.
