Every year my dad, siblings (24, 22, 19) and I (21) get my mom a combined Christmas present. Last year we got her an Apple Watch, the year before we got her a bunch of wooden and marble serving/charcuterie boards (she collects them). I’m the one that picks out the gift, shops for it, harasses everyone for money, etc.
I know you’re typically not supposed to get moms cleaning tools as gifts but a few months ago her best friends kids bought her a Dyson vacuum and I don’t think I’ve ever seen my mom as excited as when her friend brought it over. She vacuumed the entire house twice “to test it out” and when I say the entire house I mean she was coming into our rooms asking if they needed to be vacuumed then vacuuming before we responded, vacuuming the garage, the dog beds, and every other surface that could be vacuumed.
I decided to get her that vacuum for Christmas this year. I called her friend to find out the model, texted my family and collected the money, and got it when it went on sale.
Now that it’s almost Christmas they’re asking what we got her and when I said I got her the vacuum she really liked they got upset that our big gift is cleaning supplies.
Now I’m wondering if I’m wrong for getting her a vacuum for Christmas
