The man was buying a top and a dress for his girlfriend, for like £10. We agreed on a public meet-up, so I took the dog for a walk, and was planning on doing the handover on the way back. After walking the dog I get there, and traffic is bad he’ll be late. So I switch up the meeting place to a dog friendly pub, he’ll be twenty minutes. Ten minutes later, he’s parked. Ten minutes later, hes going to get cash at the bank. Twenty minutes later, hes lost. Then apparently he finds the pub but ive seen no one new come in, he claims he cant find me.
So I report him for not showing up and block him.
No
NTA. That’s a lot to put up with for ten quid.
NTA. I hope the dog enjoyed the walk.
You waited an hour and half!? Dude, no, *you* are not the asshole. I do the college rule, you’re 15 minutes late, I walk out.
NTA. For a £10 transaction, I wouldn’t wait 90 seconds, let alone 90 minutes.
Time is money.
I used to build homes. If a buyer was 15 minutes late I would leave to continue on with my day, and they would have to reschedule.
You’re NTA.
Sounds like he had no intention of buying anything and was just screwing with you for funsies.
Nope. I’ve had moments like this as a buyer and I don’t ever blame the seller for bailing.
Surely you know you aren’t the asshole
SO much drama for $10. Sweetheart, peace is priceless
So I can understand traffic – that’s fine. I can even understand the switch in meeting location throwing him for a loop…but after that 20 minutes, you waited forty more minutes for 10 bucks? At the full 90 minutes, you are earning $6.67 an hour (versus $15 an hour at 40 minutes). Was it worth that low pay?
