Me (M41) and my wife (39) were at Walmart shopping the other day when I felt a rumble in my gut. We were in the canned goods aisle and it was empty so I lifted my leg off the ground and let it rip. Only then a family of four walked around the corner mid-fart with a shopping cart and they all looked shocked.
Some laughed while the man’s wife or girlfriend gave me a look of disgust. During the car ride home my wife told me I embarrassed her in the store and that I acted like a pig by farting out loud in Walmart and especially for lifting my leg up to do so. I thought it was fine since it’s Walmart and it’s not known as a classy place exactly. I’m open to other views though.
AITA?
If you’d known your wife well enough and known that she would have been amused, and then someone unexpected came by, eh, everyone farts, might as well have a little showmanship.
But it sounds like she wasn’t amused, so you were just being a dingus.
YTA.
Were you raised in a barn? You’re basically passing judgement on those around you based on where they have to shop. And you’re passing it in the form of classless behavior. Very disrespectful. If I were the wife I would be embarrassed as well. YTA.
YTA. The bar is low, very, VERY low.
And yet, they constantly fail to clear it.
Yes. You are completely and totally the AH. Were you born without a sphincter? Men like you are gross and disgusting. You can’t even share space without deliberately stinking it up. You were in public. Show some decorum.
You gave me a laugh but yeah YTA – this is about as literally asshole behaviour as you can get!
YTA, yes. Also hilarious.
Wow. Simply incredible. You have enough self-awareness to know to ask if YTA and yet not enough to realise you clearly are one. Even when it involves your literal asshole.
YTA. And your contempt towards both your wife and the other customers of walmart is even grosser.
You should have turned around real fast and said “WHAT THAT ASSHOLE SAY?!!”
Then act like you were offended.
But yea u gross bro. YTA
A big fart at Walmart. 😬
YTA.
Did you at least say “excuse me”? Because that would have made things a lot better.
And manners still matter, IMO, regardless of where you are in public. It’s about showing respect towards the people around you, not the perceived classiness of the place.
