Hello AITA for not doing our marketing today and having a reaction about it. My General Manager (GM) wanted me to do a marketing trip with a manager in training (Floating Manager/FM). My (GM) decides to let him choose where we should go and he chooses a bunch of schools High schools, middle schools, and Elementary schools. I find out where we were set to go to and I discuss my concerns with my (GM) about these places. She told me that this was her and (FM) "thinking business". I said that there are plenty of places to do that that aren’t schools (Mind you I’m about to be 22 on February 10th. The fm is in his 40s) me and my (GM) get in a very long discussion because of many reasons and she says that me and my assistant manager were in our comfortable bubble and we need to get out more often (I do weekend marketing at all the major events my city offers 🤦). I said I would walk college campuses, warehouse and fields to market a business instead of the schools. She said it was a fantastic idea and basically pocketed for future use. She told me to keep an open mind and kept repeating herself about this, (But if I come up with an idea that she doesn’t like or involves her then she shuts it down) Me and her never got along tbh due to her having no logic outside of that "Business logic" (Quotes cause she never had this logic in the past until FM came to our store). I asked her if anyone else could go but she said no one was comfortable with FM yet because they don’t know anything at all about FM. I should note I put my foot down and said I wasn’t doing it she had no choice and to do the marketing herself with FM. I’m thinking about finding a new job but idk what the hell to do anything helps me thanks!!!

You need to learn how to format. But also, you never explain why its unreasonable, just that you didn’t want to go to the schools

This post is nonsensical. You don’t want to go to the schools but don’t explain why. You state you are refusing a direct order from your boss but again no explanation for the reasoning. What is the issue?
You didn’t say where you are, but trying to just walk onto campuses and market to students would not fly in my public school district (USA). The campuses are locked down, and each site has a SRO (security resource officer) – a city police officer. You wouldn’t get past the bulletproof glass in the front office. Students are minors and under the guardianship of the school during the school day. I’m thinking they’re not going to let you walk on campus and start a pitch.
Surely they’d have booked in with the schools to do talks.. you’d like to think they wouldn’t be stupid enough to just walk into schools! But no amount of stupidity surprises me anymore
