AITA for not driving my sister to college?

I had work today at 11 and it takes me about 30 minutes to get to work if traffic is good. My sister asks me to drive her to her class around 10:25. So I said no because I didn’t want to risk being late. She usually walks if she has no other way to get there. I was thinking "she usually walks and I can’t risk my job". AITA?

  1. NTA. You had work and didn’t want to risk being late. It’s understandable to help when you can, but your job has to come first sometimes. Especially if she already has another way to get there like walking.

  2. More INFO needed.

Is her school on the way, or out of the way of your commute? Could you have agreed to an on-the-way drop-off spot, perhaps?

If she usually just walks, how long does that take? Was she risking being late as well?

Also most importantly, is there a conflict here to begin with? Was she fine with your decision or not?

    1. On the way but you turn right instead of left. It takes 20 minutes to walk. She was annoyed by my decision

  3. Confused. Did she ask you at 10:25 to drop her off at her class which is within walking distance, or did she ask you at some point to drop her off at 10:25? If it is the former, then you risk being late. If it is the latter, just drop her off a little early on your way to work. No problem.

  4. NTA

If she needs a ride, she needs to ask and give you plenty of warning

Her last minute lack of time management doesn’t excuse risking your own tardiness
