AITA, if I don’t accept my parent not letting me put my feet on or sit on a TREADMILL.

She says that I’m damaging it by putting my "Feet Shit" on it when I’m resting on it, and that it shouldn’t have feet resting on it because that’s not what it was designed for. Quick question, should treadmills be designed to have feet on them, because I might be mistaken, but she did say that they are for walking on, and thus should have feet on them. She then used the treadmill and got pissed when I said, "Don’t get your feet shit on the treadmill, your putting your feet on it" I know I was a jerk in that moment, but it felt justified.

  1. YTA by the way you write you sound very young so I will assume this is your mom’s treadmill. Regardless of it being correct or incorrect IT’S HERS so you don’t get to decide if you can use something of hers in a way that she doesn’t want you using it.

  2. YTA. Not all feet are created equal. It is common treadmill practice to only have clean, indoor-only treadmill shoes on the treadmill. Its presence in an area where you lounge doesn’t make it lounge furniture.

  3. This is why some species eat their children.

Why are you wanting to pick this fight, in particular, with your mother?

  4. It’s probably a bit annoying that you’d use the treadmill as a footrest, even though it wouldn’t actually damage the treadmill. This is probably the tip of the iceberg of your parent getting annoyed with you.
