As the title reads my roommate left a tampon in our shared toilet. This is the first time it’s happened but I’m furious. It’s not bloody but is unpackaged and I think it was used. She’s so gross
I don’t know if it’s a habit of flushing them or it was just a mistake. I’m furious and I got angry at her for it. She said it was a mistake and it’s not a big deal. I personally think it is disgusting. AITH
YTA. It was the first time it happened and your reaction is disproportionate.
You found something in the toilet that was disgusting? Aren’t all things found in the toilet disgusting?
Seems like an over-reaction. You got mad, you told her, she said it was a mistake. It was the only time it has happened.
Move on.
It would be helpful if you started your gender. This reads like a guy who has no idea about periods – trust me, if a tampon was used even for a second, you’d know. It does sound like an accident and honestly I don’t understand all the fuss about seeing an open tampon. OP sounds immature and not ready for having a housemate
Flushing them is bad for the plumbing, but there’s no reason to be disgusted or freak out on her; get a grip. YTA.
EDITED TO ADD: Well, if this is a bot, it’s one that is oddly pernickety about bodily fluids.
To any human who reacts in this way to an unused tampon – YTA. And even if it’s been used, it’s just blood and endometrial tissue and mucus. Over half of the adult population, including children, will produce this once a month for up to four decades or more.
Get used to it, and don’t flap about so much. You’re just embarrassing yourself.
