WIBTA if I try to save a good spot for my gf at a concert

Hi! So basically I bought a concert ticket for my gf who loves the band for Christmas, but it is in the middle of the work week and she is a teacher. The venue is 2.5 hours away from her job where she gets off at 4. Concert/opener starts at 7.

Doors open at 6 so I could get in before she is there to get a good spot. It’s GA and a somewhat smaller venue. She’s loved this band for a decade and has never been able to see them live before. I want to try and save her the best view possible. WIBTA to the people around me for saving her a good spot (not sure if that’ll be barricade or what right now) ?

  1. You can try. If it starts getting crowded or people get mad, be prepared to move.

    Nothing wrong with trying though.

  2. NTA, some people might think so or refuse to move, a lot of people pull the “my friend is up there” move to try and get closer and others respond with “well tell them to come back here then”. It’s kinda one of those situations where you do what you can but be ready to compromise to keep the peace. It’s not worth getting in a fight over.  Some people make a bigger deal than what it is and you just have to not let it bother you.

  3. if it’s a smaller venue & the tickets are GA, technically it’s free for all – those are the GA rules, you literally pay less because you will be surrounded by crazy – so no, NTA
