Title. My husband has had acne since we started dating at 17, he’s now 25. It only bothers me when he picks at it and it bleeds, otherwise when it’s just a zit who cares. But I know he’s embarrassed because he feels too old to keep getting pimples. I don’t think it’s bad enough for him to go on accutane since it really only 1/2 at a time but they’re usually big ones.
For context he works in a metal fabrication shop and gets pretty greasy everyday, he’s gotten a lot better at not touching his face during the day. I also think he consumes too much sugar and has tried cutting it out but he likes to drink twisted tea after work. He washes his face in the shower everyday after work and sometimes remembers to put acne cream on and moisturizer. Is there anything else he could try that might help?
Eat better.
100% I had acne on my shoulders and sometimes butt into my 20s and the doc said “cut off the grease (chips/pizza) and empty carbs (sugar, bread, etc.–oh, and milk chocolate) and you should be fine!”
I did. I was. Almost immediately and ever since!
This is really the right answer and the underlying reason for acne later in life.
It’s not.
No. Stop giving bullshit, catch all advice. This doesn’t apply to everyone.
OP, if you’re getting consistent acne, I’d recommend seeing a dermatologist. They can prescribe a retinol which can really help, there’s also Accutane, which is something I highly recommend.
You’re not a doctor.
Isotretinoin for six months and then it’s all gone. It’s not always about facial care and a thousand different cleansers which usually do more harm than good especially when overused. And it’s not always about diet and eating better. I personally know of at least 20 people who have taken isotretinoin course of 3-6 months and 95% of the pimples went away. At some point during the course, he will have a breakout, but once you get past this it’s fine. After completion, he will only be getting the occasional pimple here and there once in a while.
See a dermatologist.
Send him to the dermatologist. Take Accutane. Problem goes away
Yup yup.
Has nothing to do with work it’s pesticides in food / plastic hormonal disruptors / microplastic in water.
Women get cancer 1 in 3 or 1 in 2 soon ( breast ) , men get boobs.
Acne is body’s way to trying to get rid of shit through skin. People trying to coat it with something / scrub it miss the whole point.
What to do ? Stop eating diary , processed food , Linoleic acid food , SEED OILS of all kinds .
Also 8900 Units of vitamin D3
I’m 60 and still have zits. Some people never outgrow them.
i would consider the accutane cause you cant really expect him to have a perfect diet for the rest of his life.
also the diet may not even be the issue
