My wife and I have a 8 year old and a 5 year old. Next (school) year, we’re planning to move to a different state. We’re not moving very far (NC to MD/DC area), but my wife seems very nervous that 8 year old won’t make any friends.
When my wife was younger she moved in like high school, so she didn’t make that many friends. But next school year 8yo is going to 4th grade. She’ll be fine. Wife seems to be stressing about this overly.
Last time she mentioned it, I told her she will be fine and that her fear is dumb due to her age. If she older (7th grade +) she’d be justified. She got mad at me for the last part. She said I was diskissing her.
