AITA for not wanting to postpone an event i planned for a week because a friend suddenly has plans

Me and my group of friends have planned for a week to go see five nights at freddys 2 this weekend and suddenly one of my friends says that they can’t make it because he’s going to a church camp because of a girl he’s pursuing. I wanted to follow through with the original plan of watching the movie this weekend because i feel that his excuse is some BS but my other friends keep trying to persuade me to postpone the movie session.

NTA…. If it has already been planned for a week, I would see the movie, worst case I could even go on your own… Why postpone it, cause that 1 friend did not tell u guys except for LAST SECOND on a whole week’s time, that he has to go somewhere else?

However, this whole short post sounds strange, first of all that u and ur friends wanna watch a movie, and then all of a sudden one aborts the plan for a ….. Girl on a camp, and the reason being is him chasing a girl? It sounds like u just made this lame story up lmfao.

  2. INFO: are the rest of the people in the group attending the movie also wanting to cancel/postpone?

i feel like the standard move in this situation is to proceed with the plans as intended – it’s the church camp friend’s prerogative to choose, and he chose pursuing the girl over seeing a movie with friends – but if the rest of the group (minus church camp friend) is wanting to postpone, i think your options are gonna be either to deal with the postponement, or say screw it and go see the movie by yourself!
