AITA?
Hi!! Before you come at me I KNOW I’m downstairs and I signed up for this, very aware.
However they STOMP at 2 am, play LOUD music till 1-2 midnight almost every night and they even vacuum their house at midnight /1 am. I work 12 hour shifts at 5/6 am and honestly it’s just sucking lately. Last night I complained about the noise and the cops came to quiet them down.
I have NEVER complained besides the one time the were vacuuming at 1 in the morning I hit my broom. She told the cops last night my boyfriend and I “like to complain a lot”. She came today to me asking me if I called the cops and passively aggressively “apologize.” I told her I have never complained besides my broom at 1 am and I overheard her say that I like to complain a lot. She passively said “I’m sorry if I said something that’s not true.” And I told her that it’s hard when she stomps at two in the morning and I work at 5, but I understand and I know what I signed up for and she passively aggressively told me that it’s not an emergency to call the cops.
Am I wrong here idk? I’m such a nice person and we’ve been living here for a year and truly have said something one time. Why do I feel bad?
I know I could have approached it in a more direct way where I could have had the conversation in person and retrospectively I will next time.

If it doesn’t stop, you have three options:
1. Talk to her again.
2. Request to move upstairs.
3. Wait till they are asleep and start hammering and hanging up pictures. You might want to let your neighbors beside you know what you are doing. Give them the time frames you are doing this at. If you came to me and told me, hell, I would join in. LOL.
Can the Landlord do something?
Nta but get your landlord or management company involved.
If you didn’t talk to them before hitting the ceiling with a stick and calling the police? YTA
When there’s a problem on your end, they might not even know it’s affecting you. If you don’t communicate how would they know?
If you have talked to them about it and they are still doing it? NTA
Take recordings from inside your apt to prove the sounds are coming through loudly. This way you have proof if the police or landlord require it.
YANTA I really feel for you! This is an awful situation and I advise you to do everything you can to put a stop to this anti social entitled [behaviour.contact](http://behaviour.contact) the building owners,any noise agencies you have,we have environment complaints in UK.I’d hate for you to have to resort to hoovering when they are asleep at 8am 😀.

NTA I’d leave my air compressor plugged in whenever I wasn’t home. It kicks on about once an hour to fill in the little bit of air it loses over time. Obnoxious roaring growl for upwards of ten minutes that’s almost deafening when you’re standing beside it.
